Our Client is an International tech company with a growing footprint in Africa that provides financing solutions to Agribusinesses.

They are seeking to hire a Marketing Lead who will be responsible for creating and refining the company’s overall marketing strategy. You will specialize in three areas: brand awareness and customer retention, go-to-market strategy, and lead generation. You will also create and manage content for communicating with our investors, clients, partners and other stakeholders.

You will do this for scaling in existing markets and breaking into new ones, while working closely with local agencies in-country. You will also work closely with our upper management, ensuring our marketing efforts reflect the company’s short-term and long-term strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage our website, including its content and the structure to support different visitor journeys
  • Produce company materials like slideshows and brochures that equip our Operations team’s different business segments
  • Manage marketing related vendors, such as content creators, graphic designers, media buyers, etc.
  • Manage local marketing agencies, including identifying them, evaluating their marketing channels, setting their goals, and monitoring their performance
  • Keep aligned with our upper management and initiate marketing activities that support the company strategy, both for business development and project launches
  • Communicate regularly with our Product department to stay up to speed on our app’s capabilities and intended engagement with our markets
  • Collaborate with customers on marketing initiatives
  • Identify significant events in our target markets and then arrange and promote participation
  • Keep up with our competitors and the industry
  • Keep abreast with best practices and new product development trends
  • Strategize with and report regularly to the CEO

Key Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication or a related field
  • GTM Strategist, who’s not afraid to get their hands dirty
  • 3 or more years’ experience in marketing, including managing media channels, content design tools, website design and administration, marketing-specific metrics and analytical techniques
  • Tech savvy, with experience in marketing related software such as CRM, campaign management platforms, analytical tools, email auto responders, graphic design, website management, etc.
  • Passionate and strategic about written and digital communication
  • Strong interest in agricultural and financial industries
  • Exceptional marketing content writing skills in English
  • Personal or professional familiarity with African countries and cultures
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Creative thinker with super-strong attention to detail
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills
  • Bold personality, bringing ideas to management and pioneering external communications
  • Team-player mentality: proactive, open-minded, looking out for colleagues’ success just as much as your own, able to compromise
  • Experience in Agri-financing sector will be an added advantage
  • Bonus: Multilingual in African languages
