Our client is a leading Training and Consultancy Services organization that seeks to revolutionize the market with impactful training programs. The company has an ambition to grow its market reach and grow its product portfolio and hence seeks to hire a self-driven, confident, innovative, hands-on, result-oriented, and growth-focused individual to drive training sales and uptake as a Training Sales Assistant.

Position Summary

Job title:                                    Training Sales Assistant

Department:                            Sales and Marketing

Monthly Salary Range:       Kshs 30,000-40,000 Gross + commission of 10% of net profit

Reports to:                                Training Director

Location:                                  Nairobi

Number of Positions:           One (1) Position

Placement:                                 Immediate

Experience:                            At least 1 year of selling training or other professional services.

Key role Accountabilities (Duties and Responsibilities)

  1. Assist in packaging training offerings guided by market demand and dynamics.
  2. Support sales efforts by reaching out to potential clients.
  3. Assist potential training customers in making decisions on training interventions.
  4. Build relationships with potential customers.
  5. Negotiate and close training sales deals profitably.
  6. Make presentations and pitches to potential clients.
  7. Package training proposals and expressions of interest to respond to client requests.
  8. Prepare quotations and negotiate offers with potential training clients.
  9. Follow through and make collections for due payments from training clients.
  10. Adhere to established training and consultancy procedures.
  11. Attend events, conferences, and other forums where potential leads can be generated.
  12. Make accurate calculations to determine costs versus profits when drafting quotations.
  13. Coordinate training and use that as an opportunity to cross-sell other training.
  14. Research new training topical areas and approaches to expand market offerings.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

Person Specification (Qualifications, Experience, and Skills)

  1. Hold at least a Certificate in Sales and Marketing or any other relevant area.
  2. Excellent written and spoken communication and presentation skills.
  3. Possession of basic sales and marketing experience with professional services.
  4. Skilled presenter and negotiator able to squeeze deals from any negotiation.
  5. Those with training Sales experience shall have a definite advantage.
  6. Willing to travel domestically and regionally as the work demands.
